WHAT THIS NIGHTS IS
An evening for couples to gather and explore rope, Shibari, as a doorway into presence, communication, and embodied trust, held inside a shamanic temple container. We work with music, guided experience, consented exploration, and optional reflective sharing. This night is about what rope can teach the nervous system about being held, about asking clearly, and about staying present with another person through tension and release.
Somatically - Rope works directly with the body, with breath, sensation, and the physical experience of being tied, held, and released. The rope is the doorway into everything else.
Relationally - We practice making contact through rope with full awareness, presence without agenda, ties without assumption, connection without pretence. Every tie is negotiated before it begins.
Psychologically - Rope brings up what you carry, trust, control, surrender, the stories you hold about being held or holding someone else.
Tantrically - Tantra works with energy and polarity, the charge that moves between two people in conscious contact. In rope, that shows up directly: the exchange between the person tying and the person being tied, sensation as information rather than distraction, and arousal treated as available energy rather than something to suppress or rush past.
Shamanically - We connect with ourselves as part of the Great Mystery, exploring rope as ritual rather than performance. There are no forced beliefs. The temple container facilitates an exploration into rope's somatic and energetic dimensions, beyond technique alone.
WHAT WE WORK WITH
Inside the temple, we move between guided practice and open time. You might encounter:
- Cacao ceremony and opening circle, where we name what we're carrying and what we're curious about
- Rope fundamentals: basic ties, communication signals, and the negotiation process that precedes every tie
- Guided rope practice: working with your partner through structured ties, with full explanation and check-ins throughout
- Somatic presence practices: learning to feel and communicate from inside the body, what the rope is asking, what you're ready for, what you're not
- Energy and polarity awareness: working with charge, arousal, and sensation as part of the practice, not separate from it
- Breath and stillness in rope: using breath to stay present in a tie, rather than performing through it
- Silence and free temple time: unstructured space to integrate, rest, witness, or simply be
- Closing circle: landing back into ordinary reality, together
The practices offered remain an invitation.
WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM THIS EXPERIENCE
There's something that happens when couples gather in a space held for exactly who they are. A letting down. A remembering. The particular magic of being witnessed together by others who share some deep truth with you, without explanation. In this temple, you and your partner get to discover what rope feels like as ritual, and what your bodies actually want once communication and consent are fully explicit.
You get to practice asking for what you want, and saying no to what you don't, with no script to follow. You get a room where presence, patience, and care are the point, where being tied by your partner, or tying them, becomes a practice of trust. And you get community: a room where who you are, and who you love, needs no explanation, and your bodies are safe.
WHAT IS LEVEL 1?
This evening is a Level 1 space. That means: it is designed to support people who are new to rope or to shamanic temple work. You do not need prior rope experience. You do not need a practice, a lineage, or a vocabulary for this. You need only a body and enough curiosity to walk through the door.
Level 1 also means the practices are introduced slowly, with full explanation and full choice at every step. Nothing escalates without the room being ready. The facilitators hold the pace, and the pace is yours.
Nudity is welcome and explored, but absolutely not expected. Sensuality and erotic energy are present. Explicit sexuality is not the focus at any point. You will never be asked to do anything. You will be invited, and you will decide.

- People new to rope or to temple/conscious-sexuality work

- Those in any relationship structure: single, partnered, non-monogamous, chosen family
- Neurodivergent people. We do our best to improve access.
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
- People who are looking for a party or a hookup
- People who aren't ready to be vulnerable
- People who need to control what happens in a room
- Those coming primarily to find sexual partners
- Anyone unwilling to engage with our vetting process
- Those in acute mental health crisis. We care about you, and this is not the right container right now. Feel free to reach out for individual support.
Anyone uncomfortable with the possibility of nudity or sensuality in a ritual space, even as a witness - Those with very active PTSD that feels overwhelming, or those who have recently experienced a severe stressor that may impede your capacity to safely manage yourself in this kind of space. YOUR FACILITATORS
Dr. Sara Mo - Tonic Tantra is a nurse educator and tantric facilitator. Her clinical background spans pediatrics to end-of-life care, and her training spans Western science and Eastern philosophy. As a multicultural nomad, she has spent nearly a decade travelling, training, and teaching holistic healing practices, including Tantra, Ayurveda, Yoga, Breathwork, and Shibari, helping people reconnect with their bodies and feel more empowered in their lives through sensual and somatic play.

Amy Nelson
Shamanic Therapist holds a degree in counseling psychology, is the creator of SomatoSensual Therapy, and is a relationship coach and sexuality educator. Amy comes from a family lineage of healers and seers and is initiated in shamanism. Her work holds what most spaces keep separate: the psychological and the sacred, the erotic and the spiritual, the science of the nervous system and the wisdom of non-ordinary states. In the temple, she brings her full breadth of experience and depth.

Ancois Human-Nelson
Co-facilitator, space holder, and experiential DJ. Ancois holds the experience of someone who has walked a path from fearfully withheld to bravely trusting and opening, despite every step feeling unbearably uncomfortable and unnatural. Her insight into the struggles of birthing her authentic self help to create space for those who feel like they're never "get it right". Ancois helps participants learn the power of their sacred resistance, and offers a grounded, safe, unshaming steadiness for moments when fears take hold.
ACCESSIBILITY
This space is neurodivergent-supportive. Any needs or considerations are welcomed during the intake conversation. Please note that the venue is not currently wheelchair accessible, and we hold that limitation honestly.
