Hi, my name is Carla - and I've been reading tarot for over 20 years. What started as a teenage obsession has grown into something much bigger: a way to connect with people, spark meaningful conversations, and explore life’s mysteries together.
Modern Muse is my way of sharing my love for tarot with the world. Think of it as part hobby, part side hustle, and 100% a labor of love. It’s a space where tarot meets connection, insight, and yes, even a little magic. After the social drought of the Covid years, tarot has been an incredible way to rebuild that sense of community—and have some fun while we’re at it.
What Is Modern Muse?
Modern Muse isn’t your average tarot experience. It’s where real talk meets ancient symbolism. I don’t do crystal balls or lottery numbers, but I do help people uncover clarity, perspective, and those “aha!” moments.
Tarot is a tool for reflection, a way to ask life’s big (or small) questions, and, most importantly, a way to remember that you already have the answers within you.
What Makes Modern Muse Special?
Beyond the cards, I’m all about connection. Whether you’re here to explore the unknown or just curious about what tarot is all about, this is a space for open minds, good vibes, and maybe a little laughter.
And because I love building community, I started the Cape Town Tarot Readers Society, where we host monthly events called 🖤 Cursed Thursdays 🖤. It’s a mix of tarot readings, learning sessions, and a healthy dose of mystical fun. Think of it as a tarot hangout for anyone who wants to dive deeper—or just wants to see what the fuss is about.
Why Tarot?
Life’s messy. We all have questions—about love, work, purpose, or just what the ***k is happening in our lives. Tarot doesn’t predict your future, but it does help you:
