Description

Remembering Softness
An Ayurvedic Day Immersion for Women

Sunday, 22 November 2026 · Be Hive, Boschendal Farm, Cape Winelands

With Claudia Batschari and Tharien Pieterse

Beneath an old oak humming with bees, with mountains rising on every side, there is a place where the mind can rest, the body can soften, and the soul can remember what it needs.

Remembering Softness is made of simple things: warm oil on skin, gentle movement and breath flowing through the body; nourishing food, the Earth underfoot. You'll have space to pause, to listen more closely to your body's own wisdom and to sit in circle with women who listen, witness and remind you that you don't have to carry everything alone. Ayurveda gives the day its shape, offering embodied practices to explore the elements and your own natural rhythm.

We gather at Be Hive, set in the regenerative landscape of Boschendal Farm and surrounded by forest, mountains and open sky. Over six hours we'll move through oiling rituals, yoga, element-based movement and a circle of women. We'll practise on the Old Oak Deck, beside a tree that is home to a colony of bees. Here the land is part of the practice.

You don't need any experience with Ayurveda or yoga. Just come as you are, with comfortable clothing, and be willing to slow down.

What Makes This Immersion Special

It's a day of doing less, with care. Ayurveda teaches that when life gets complicated, we go back to what is simple: warm oil on skin, breath moving through the body, food grown in the soil beneath your feet, women listening to each other. It's something we already know and have forgotten along the way.

Be Hive was created for this kind of gathering, a place where rest is honoured and the Earth holds the space with us. We keep the group small so that everyone is seen and heard and you have the space to remember how to listen to your body.

Outline For The Day

Morning Oiling

We start the day the Ayurvedic way, with warm oil. You'll learn a simple self-oiling ritual (Abhyanga) that calms the nervous system, nourishes the skin and brings you back into your body. It's a small act of care, and you can take it home and use it every day.

Restorative Yoga

Gentle, grounding yoga with breathwork on the Old Oak Deck, with the mountains all around you and the soft hum of bees above.

Food Forest Tour
Explore a thriving, multi-layered permaculture food forest focusing on successional agroforestry, local biodiversity, and sustainable farming techniques.

Returning to the Elements
Movement inspired by the Ayurvedic elements of earth, water, fire, air and space. Each one offers a different way of being in your body, and each shows you something about yourself.

Circle of Women

We gather in circle to share, to listen and to be witnessed. There's a strength in sitting with other women and realising you don't have to carry everything alone.

Understanding Yourself Through Ayurveda

Ayurveda is a practical and compassionate way of understanding your body, its rhythms and patterns, and its changing needs. You'll leave with practical ideas you can use in daily life.

About Your Facilitators

Claudia Batschari

Claudia is an Ayurvedic practitioner, retreat facilitator and lifelong student of wellbeing and the natural world. For almost two decades she has explored Ayurveda not as a set of rules but as a compassionate way of understanding ourselves. She loves creating beautiful spaces where women can slow down, reconnect through nature and remember the wisdom that lives in their own bodies.

Tharien Pieterse

Tharien is an Ayurvedic practitioner, yoga teacher and massage therapist who lives close to the Earth, growing her own food and herbs and following the simple rhythms of nature. With Ayurveda as her foundation, she works through movement, breath and touch, meeting women wherever they are in life. She loves holding spaces where women can feel safe in their bodies, soften into presence and remember that their bodies have always known the way home.
