What is Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is a visionary tea that comes from the Amazon jungle. It induces bright visions and clear insights that can give you clarity on the big questions in life and bring great healing to past traumas. Many people think of ayahausca as a grandmother, who teaches us lessons that help us to move forward in life.

The Ceremony

During each ceremony, you will have your own mat. It is an individual and non-talking experience that takes you deep within, although there will be others around. The guides open the ceremony with a ceremonial prayer to cleanse and protect the space.

Throughout the journey, they will offer sacred songs and prayers called icaros, which are shamanic songs that they have learned from their apprenticeships with shamanic and spiritual teachers in Peru, Brazil and India.

The experienced, kind and very attentive guides will be preset throughout the journey, offering assistance if you need anything. The shamanic guides may also offer you individual icaro songs, reiki or acupressure if they intuitvely sense that it will be helpful to you.

Spiritual Awakening

A spiritual awakening is an experience where you are able to connect with the divine, and awaken to mystical wonders that we all have the capacity to connect with. A spiritual awakening can feel like bliss, deep release of trauma, and beautiful connection to all of creation. This can be extremely transformative for you life, and might unlock a phase of growth and positive change in your life.

Ayahuasca is a deeply spiritual experience for most people. This experience is relevant for people of all religions and beliefs, as we do not promote any dogma or belief system on you. We encourage you to connect with spirituality on your own terms, if that is something you feel would help you on your journey.

Sacred Waters Ceremonies

Sacred Waters is a Sanctuary on the West Coast of the US. Its founder, Aria, was born in the Natal Midlands and hosts an intimate ceremony in her homeland each year.

Our ceremonies are different to other ayahausca ceremonies, as we work primarily with the elements - specifically water - as a way to heal, flow, and grow. Being influenced by spiritual traditions in Peru, Brazil, India, New Mexico and Hawaii, we bring a unique and syncretic approach to our work, singing in over 15 languages and teaching spiritual wisdom that is accessible to all people, no matter what their background is.

About Us:

Aria and Gabriel lead ceremonies for Sacred Waters Sanctuary.

Aria Tau is the Visionary Founder of a US-based ayahuasca church, the Sacred Waters Sanctuary in Oregon. Driven by a deep longing for healing for herself and her family, she spent decades on the spiritual path, deepening her knowledge of shamanism and mental health through apprenticeships with teachers in Peru, Hawaii, California, New Mexico and the Zululand. Aria is a singer/songwriter and self-produced artist. She is known for her ethereal voice and healing songs that are channeled live in ceremony.

Gabriel Sky is a medicine man and spiritual community leader from Oregon. After a spiritual awakening at 14, he started down the path of spirituality through Hindiusm and Bhakti. He is a renowned kirtan (chanting) singer in Portland, and since 2020, has deepened his connection with Indian spirituality through an Indian Classical apprenticeship with a teacher in Pune, India. At 17, he had a traumatic ayahausca ceremony, and when he met Aria, they began working to build a ceremonial offering that is safe for all people, and held in agreements. He has deepened his shamanic practice through the Yawanawa tradition of Brazil and carries many of their high-vibration medicine songs. He is also a beautiful human with a divine masculine presence.

Gabriel and Aria will be supported by Janine Axmann, a sound healer, shamanically initiated songstress, and yoga instructor based on Johannesburg.
