Inklings

Our weaving studio presents classes, retreats and bespoke activities for your birthday party or business team building event. We teach a variety of weaving techniques, from learning how to weave on an inkle loom (and making your own dog leashes, bag straps, guitar straps or shoe laces) to tapestry, rock weaving, branch weaving and pin loom weaving. On request, we include weaving related games and fun group activities.
You will leave not only with a new skill and circle of friends, but also having learned a lot more about yourself and being more able to transform your circumstances.

A bit more about myself:

I am a weaver, yogi and spiritual teacher. After more than 20 years in the finance industry, I finally managed to break free from my accounting job a bit earlier this year. My passion for creating started at a very young age, and I was fortunate enough to finally be able to spend time in the picturesque Franschhoek and mountainous Robertson, to hone my weaving and yogic skills.

Today I present 1-day classes where we learn how to create dog leashes or bag straps. These classes are excellent as a team building activity as well. The weekend retreats cater for artists and non-artists alike. No previous weaving experience is required, but existing fibre artists are also welcome to bring their projects for a day of creating together.

My workshops provide opportunities for people to connect with likeminded individuals and learn a new skill. Also to connect with, examine and strengthen the Self. The weekend workshops take place in Johannesburg and in the Western Cape, and include a big chunk of forest bathing, dancing, journaling and just sitting in the shadows of old oak trees, listening to each other’s stories. Because in an increasingly fragmented world, we need to know and feel that we are supported and loved, and have a right to be here.
