This is a consent-centred, safety-positive space. Everyone who attends is vetted before they arrive — no exceptions.
To begin, please complete our vetting form and book a short curiosity call with us. Your ticket is only valid once you have been confirmed through that process.
If you purchase a ticket before receiving confirmation, it will not be valid, and you will be refunded minus transaction costs.
This is not an obstacle — it is how we make the room safe for everyone in it, including you.

Shamanic Temple presents QUEER TEMPLE NIGHTS — QUEER WOMEN*
20 June 2026 | The Spice Yard, Salt River, Cape Town
Soft land 17h30 — final closing 23h30. Doors close at 17h55!
Sacred, authentic, and nurturing ritual space held for queer people, by queer facilitators.
This is the first of three Queer Temple evenings happening across June and July 2026. Each night is its own complete container, but we do recommend, if you can, attending a Gendered Temple as well as the All-Genders one if you're curious about deepening your experience. Details and links to the other evenings are at the bottom of this page.
WHAT THESE NIGHTS ARE
These nights are about gently finding ways to connect more meaningfully with ourselves — our spirit, sensuality, erotic energy, and truth. We then explore and discover these energies in our connections with others, and with life itself.
Somatically We work directly with the body, with breath, movement, sensation, and self-contact as a way of coming home. The body is the doorway into everything else.
Relationally We practice making contact, with ourselves first, and then, if and when it feels right, with others. Consensual partnered exercises create the conditions for genuine meeting: presence without agenda, touch without assumption, connection without pretence.
Psychologically We work with what you carry. The shame, the conditioning, the stories you inherited about your body, your desire, your right to take up space.
Shamanically We connect with ourselves as part of the Great Mystery, and explore our connection with the living world that we are part of. There are no forced beliefs. Shamanism encourages deep remembering and connecting to your wisdom.
Our queer-centric approach facilitates an exploration into conscious sexuality not limited by heteronormative assumptions. Here we find a deeper connection to self and through that a greater capacity for intimacy with other.
WHAT WE WORK WITH
Inside the temple, we move between guided practice and open time. You might encounter:
— Cacao & Blue Lotus ceremony and opening circle, where we name what we're carrying and what we're curious about
— Breathwork: using the breath to move energy, open sensation, and access states the ordinary mind rarely reaches alone
— Somatic presence practices: learning to feel the body from the inside, rather than performing it for the outside
— Gentle self-contact and self-pleasure as a practice of coming home to yourself
— Consensual partnered exercises: making contact with another person with full awareness, full consent, and no agenda
— Silence and free temple time: unstructured space to integrate, rest, witness, or simply be
— Closing circle: landing back into ordinary reality, together
The practices offered remain an invitation. You are always the author of your own experience. If you want to spend the entire evening sitting quietly in a corner, that is a full and valid way to be here.
ABOUT THIS CONTAINER: QUEER WOMEN*
A note on what this grouping means — and what it doesn't.
This evening is not a women-only space in a fixed or exclusionary sense. The asterisk matters. This container is shaped by the energetics of feminine experience: sisterhood, the particular ways women and femmes have been taught to distrust their bodies, to perform rather than feel, to shrink desire into something manageable. The work here meets those specific patterns — not because they define everyone in the room, but because they are worth addressing directly, in the company of people who recognise them.
This space is open to anyone who feels drawn to the energy of this container — not only those who were assigned female at birth, and not only those who identify as women full-time.
A trans man, for example, may carry parts of his history, his body, or his healing that feel most at home in this space. He may have wounds that belong to feminine experience, and a sisterhood he has not been able to fully inhabit. That belongs here if he feels it does. He may also feel called to the men's evening for entirely different reasons — to work on brotherhood, belonging, or a sense of masculine embodiment. Both can be true. He gets to decide.
A non-binary person may feel the pull of this container's energy without identifying as a woman at all. That pull is a valid guide.
The question is not: am I a woman? The question is: does this energetic container feel like where my healing wants to happen right now?
If you are unsure, reach out. We will have an honest conversation.
WHAT IS LEVEL 1?
This evening is a Level 1 space. That means:
It is designed for people who are new to conscious-sexuality or shamanic temple work. You do not need prior experience of anything. You do not need a practice, a lineage, or a vocabulary for this. You need only a body, a willingness to be honest, and enough curiosity to walk through the door.
Level 1 also means the practices are introduced slowly, with full explanation and full choice at every step. Nothing escalates without the room being ready. The facilitators hold the pace, and the pace is yours.
Nudity is positive at this level — meaning it is welcome, not expected. Sensuality and erotic energy are present. Explicit sexuality is not the focus. You will never be asked to do anything. You will be invited, and you will decide.
WHO THIS IS FOR
— Queer people drawn to the energy of this container
— Those curious to expand their sexuality, intimacy and connection
— People new to temple or conscious-sexuality work — this is where to begin
— Those carrying shame around their body, desire, or history, who are ready for some of that to soften
— People who have felt out of place in conscious-sexuality spaces built on heteronormative assumptions
— Those in any relationship structure: single, partnered, non-monogamous, chosen family
— Neurodivergent people — this space works with you, not around you
WHO THIS IS NOT FOR
— People who do not identify as queer in any sense
— Those coming primarily to find sexual partners
— Anyone unwilling to engage with our vetting process
— Those in acute mental health crisis — we care about you, and this is not the right container right now
— Anyone uncomfortable with the possibility of nudity or sensuality in a ritual space, even as a witness
Not sure? Reach out.
AM I QUEER?
If you are asking, you are probably welcome here.
Queer is not a fixed identity with a membership form. It is a word many people use to name their experience of being outside the dominant story — in their sexuality, their gender, their way of loving, or simply in how they move through the world. You do not need a label. You do not need to be out. You do not need certainty.
If something in you recognises this space and feels drawn to it, that recognition is enough. Send us a message if you want to talk it through.
YOUR FACILITATORS
Amy Nelson
Shamanic Therapist, creator of SomatoSensual Therapy, and sexuality educator. Amy comes from a family lineage of healers and seers, and has trained in shamanism, psychology, and somatic practice. Her work holds what most spaces keep separate: the psychological and the sacred, the erotic and the spiritual, the science of the nervous system and the wisdom of non-ordinary states. In the temple, she holds the shamanic ground — the opening, the protection, the field, and the return.
Francis Michael
Certified Sexological Bodyworker and Somatic Practitioner. Sexological Bodywork is a globally recognised touch and movement-based modality facilitating learning, healing, and expansion in matters of intimacy, sexuality, and embodiment. Francis brings strong boundaries, sensitivity, and deep expertise to the temple space.
Ancois Human
Co-facilitator, space holder, and experiential DJ. The music for each evening is carefully curated to support the journey.
Ancois holds the space with a deep, unshaming steadiness.
She has a natural sensitivity to the edges people meet within themselves, and helps make the space feel reachable, even when it's challenging.
ACCESSIBILITY
This space is neurodivergent-supportive. Any needs or considerations are welcomed during the intake conversation. Please note that the venue is not currently wheelchair accessible, and we hold that limitation honestly.
