Embodiment Rope Space was born in June 2021. It is a not for profit collective run by volunteers. The intention is to create a safe(r) space wherein people from all walks of life could come to learn about the art of consensual restraint, known as Shibari, Kinbaku, bondage or simply rope work. We believe that this art form is a transformative modality, giving those within our community the opportunity to transmute shame and guilt into beauty, connection, pleasure, art and joy.
The Ethos of Embodiment Rope Space:
This is a sex-positive, kink-positive, pleasure-centric space.
This is a queer space. Friends of LGBTQIA+ people are welcome.
We believe that rope is for every body.
Pleasure is political. We challenge our pre-conceptions in this space.
Community is essential for safety. We learn more when we learn together.
Open hearts and open minds are welcome here. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
We share this space out of joy and the pursuit of pleasure.
Consent can be revoked at any time.
We practice risk-aware consensual kink.
We share information and experiences about safety freely.
We take responsibility for our mistakes.
We offer rope jams and classes most Thursday evenings and Shibari workshops bi-monthly from beginner to more advanced levels. In addition we host performances whenever we are able and our premisses is used for various scheduled workshops and events in the field of kink, conscious sexuality and consent practice. We also offer membership options for rope practitioners to use the space and attend our offerings.
