    These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, including any content, functionality, events listings, sages directory, ticket purchases, profiles, and services offered through the Platform (collectively, the “Services”).

    By using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

    Acceptance of Terms

    These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and S.O.L.O Community. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

    Eligibility

    You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

    Accounts and Registration

    Certain features (e.g., creating a Sage profile, listing events, purchasing tickets, or posting content) require registration. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as needed. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

    User Roles and Responsibilities

    • Visitors: May browse public content, events, and Sage profiles.
    • Sages/Practitioners: Individuals or entities listing services, profiles, or offerings (e.g., tantra sessions, bodywork, workshops). You represent that all information provided is accurate and that you are qualified and legally permitted to offer the services described.
    • Event Organisers/Hosts: Responsible for the accuracy of event details, compliance with applicable laws, and ensuring events are conducted safely and ethically.
    • Participants/Attendees: Responsible for complying with event-specific rules set by organisers and these Terms.

    Content and Conduct

    You retain ownership of any content you post or submit (“User Content”), but grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Platform.

    You agree not to post or transmit:

    • Content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, invasive of privacy, hateful, or discriminatory.
    • Content promoting illegal activities or violating third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy).
    • Misleading or false information about services, events, qualifications, or experiences.
    • Spam, unsolicited promotions, or commercial solicitations outside permitted areas.
    • Malware, viruses, or harmful code.

    We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to review, monitor, remove, or disable access to any User Content at our sole discretion.

    Events, Tickets, and Payments

    • Event organisers are solely responsible for event delivery, safety, cancellations, refunds, and compliance with laws.
    • We act as a platform facilitator only — we do not own, control, or sponsor events unless explicitly stated.
    • Ticket purchases are processed through third-party payment providers; additional terms may apply. Fees, refunds, and disputes are governed by the organiser’s stated policies and our payment processor terms.
    • We charge a 10% platform/service fee for ticket sales — these will be disclosed at the time of use.

    Payouts to Sages

    We facilitate ticket sales and collect payments on behalf of Sages, event organisers, and hosts as a limited payment agent. Proceeds from ticket sales (net of applicable platform fees, payment processing fees, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and any other deductions) will be paid out to you as follows:

    • Payout of net proceeds from sold tickets will be processed within 24–48 hours after the event has successfully concluded and you have confirmed your verified banking details with us.
    • The event is considered “concluded” once it has taken place as scheduled (or been officially cancelled/completed by you). You must notify us promptly to confirm completion and initiate payout.
    • We reserve the right to withhold, delay, or set off funds (including partial or full amounts) in cases of: unresolved attendee refund requests, disputes, suspected fraud, violations of these Terms or Community Guidelines, chargebacks, or outstanding fees/refunds owed. Any withheld amounts will be released (or applied) once the issue is resolved, at our reasonable discretion.
    • All payouts are made via secure bank transfer to the verified account details in your Sage Listing provided. You are responsible for ensuring your banking information is accurate and up to date; we are not liable for delays or failed transfers due to incorrect details.
    • Refunds to participants are handled in accordance with your stated event refund policy and applicable laws (including the South African Consumer Protection Act where relevant). You agree to reimburse us for any refunds, chargebacks, or losses we incur on your behalf due to event issues or non-compliance.

    Prohibited Activities

    You may not:

    • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
    • Impersonate any person or entity.
    • Interfere with the Platform’s operation (e.g., hacking, scraping, overloading).
    • Harass, stalk, or harm other users.
    • Exploit minors or engage in non-consensual activities (especially relevant given the nature of sacred sexuality and intimacy-related content).
    • Post content involving explicit sexual material unless clearly marked and compliant with applicable age restrictions and laws.

    Intellectual Property

    The Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use as permitted.

    Third-Party Links and Services

    The Platform may link to or integrate third-party sites/services (e.g., payment processors, external venues). We are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. More about our privacy policy here.

    Disclaimer of Warranties

    The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses.

    Limitation of Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, S.O.L.O Community, its owners, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services, even if advised of the possibility.

    Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless S.O.L.O Community and its affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

    Termination

    We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice, for any reason, including suspected violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends immediately, but provisions that by nature should survive (e.g., liability, indemnification) continue.

    Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

    These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in South Africa.
