Description
Botanical Eco-Printing Workshop with a dye blanket method | Create a One-of-a-Kind Silk Scarf
This is a collaboration between Be the Earth and Natasha Sale from The Adorned.
If you missed the first class, this is your chance to join us for a brand new workshop focusing on eco-printing with a dye blanket.
Join multi-disciplinary artist Nastasha Sale for an immersive, hands-on eco-printing workshop set on breath-taking Boschendal Farm.
Eco-printing is the fascinating process of creating direct contact prints from tannin-rich plants onto fabric using steam and natural mordants.
This workshop is ne3w and we will not only be eco-printing, but also using a dye blanket to achieve further colour variations and experiment with natural dyes in combination with eco-printing.
Each piece is unpredictable, organic, and entirely unique.
This workshop provides a gentle, sensory introduction to the enchanting practice of eco-printing with a dye blanket.
You’ll learn:
Which plants produce strong and beautiful prints
How to prepare fabric for eco-printing
The basics of plant placement, bundling, and steaming
How to use a dye blanket to further enhance the colours and variations of your eco-prints
During the workshop, you will eco-print your own raw silk scarf, which you’ll take home, along with a printed workbook so you can continue experimenting at home.
No prior artistic experience is needed — just curiosity and a love of nature.
This is a relaxed, family-friendly workshop suitable for beginners.
Your ticket includes:

A raw silk scarf
A take-home eco-printing workbook
A Forest-to-Fork lunch
