Description
Embodiment Rope Space is a Shibari studio where people from all walks of life could come to learn about the art of consensual restraint, known as Shibari, Kinbaku, bondage or simply rope work. We believe that this artform is a transformative modality, giving those within our community the opportunity to transmute shame and guilt into beauty, connection, pleasure, art and joy.
We believe that rope knowledge should be accessible, while maintaining reverence for the art form as the high-risk activity that it is. We walk a fine line between creating a sandbox for experimentation and opening Pandora’s box. For this reason, our Ethos is incredibly important and something that guides all activities in the space. Our Code of Conduct is something that all attendees and spaceholders are expected to adhere to.
The Ethos of Embodiment Rope Space:
This is a sex-positive, kink-positive, pleasure-centric space.
This is a queer space. Friends of LGBTQIA+ people are welcome.
We believe that rope is for every body.
Pleasure is political. We challenge our pre-conceptions in this space.
Community is essential for safety. We learn more when we learn together.
Open hearts and open minds are welcome here. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
We share this space out of joy and the pursuit of pleasure.
Consent can be revoked at any time.
We practice risk-aware consensual kink.
We share information and experiences about safety freely.
We take responsibility for our mistakes.
